LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!! Service was so very pleasant! Atmosphere was spectacular! Food options were limited, but that only means that what is on the menu is very well prepared and originally delicious!!!! I brought my mom here on a nice quick little date. We weren't that hungry and didn't feel like having anything too heavy. I had a beer, and she had the delicious strawberry Thai basil soda that they make. It was soooo good. Next time when I have a designated driver, I'm ordering from their wine list! It looked like a nice variety. Their grilled cheese sandwich was to die for. I've never tasted anything quite like it! The salad was delicious too. It was a quick stop but the environment was soooo lovely we didn't want to leave!!!! We enjoyed it very much and it exceeded our expectations! Can't wait to go back!!!!

So happy we tried this place! Stopped here for an early 5pm dinner with my mom, sister, toddler, and infant. I parked my double stroller right next to our table. We didn't have to wait. Loved the seating area, such a nice little place to unwind. Beverages: white wine was great, squirt in a can, and a stella in a bottle. They also bring out a big bottle of chilled water for the table. The burger was great. The grilled cheese was amazing! I'm still talking about it. When I see heirloom tomatoes at farmers markets I think of their amazing grilled cheese. We also had the fried chicken, it was really good also. For dessert we had the chocolate mousse with salted caramel topping. It was so tasty! Left here already planning my next visit. Highly recommended.

Great breakfast! Dinners are amazing, fried chicken, sliders, salads, sweet potato fries, shishito peppers..... Everything is great!

Such a quaint and lovely little food truck setup. //FOOD// + Apple Bottom Grilled Cheese - the fuji apple, fennel aioli and two different types of cheddar made this grilled cheese divine!! It was one of the best grilled cheese I've ever had. but the side salad it comes with (fava tendrils) was a bit too bitter for my taste. + Grass Fed Beef Hamburger - the patty was really tender and flavorful with bits of fresh thyme. the fries could have been a bit more crisp. //DRINKS// Both of their draft beers were delicious. There's only one hostess/server and one cook so when it gets busy service can be slow but just sit back, relax and enjoy the nice atmosphere.

Went back for a second time with my boyfriend and this time around the food was just okay, nothing special. My boyfriend ordered the grass fed burger (with bacon and avocado) and I got the quinoa sliders along with the special soda they make there. Wait time was not too bad considering that we came on a Friday night and it was quite busy. We only had to wait about 5 minutes for a table and our food came within a reasonable amount of time. The soda was really good but that was the best part of the meal. The burger was juicy yet lacked in flavour and texture. The nice part was that the bacon was thick cut and crispy. As for the quinoa sliders, they held together nicely but also lacked in flavour. The fries and salad that came with the burgers were very good as the fries were crispy and the salad had a very nice vinaigrette dressing. For dessert we ordered the lemon bar and the chocolate dessert (I don't recall what it's named). I thought the chocolate dessert was very good because of how the caramel, salt, and cacao bits interacted. My boyfriend tried it and thought it was horrible because it was too bitter. His lemon bar was quite nice as well but I preferred the chocolate dessert for it's complexity. I'm also taking off a star because the first time I went there were small particles of sand floating in my water. When the gal came around to refill our pitchers I noticed that there was sediment at the bottom of the pitcher she refilled from. On this second visit the water appeared to be clear without the particles.

A trip to Three Rivers isn't complete without stopping here. First off, the atmosphere is great. It's in a beautiful spot with great views, decorations, and music. I've been here pretty often and every time, the food has been great. I've seen some bad reviews on about how the staff treats customers but every time I've been, the staff has been super friendly and welcoming. The only downside- it can be a pretty long wait to get your food.

Beautiful place, very helpful staff and great food! Perfect spot to chill after a day hiking in the park.

My boyfriend and I had breakfast here back in May before heading into Sequoia National Park. I had the breakfast sandwich and it was wonderful. The Hollandaise sauce is like no other and the brioche bun was toasted to perfection. The sandwich kept me full during a day of hiking. The truck was set in a lovely area right next to the river. It was a lovely surrounding to start the day.

Based off the Yelp reviews this was our 1st stop & it didn't disappoint. The food had a fresh California type of flavored & everything in the menu looked good. I had the grilled cheese w/ heirloom tomatoes with arugula salad. They only do breakfast on Saturdays & Sunday's, which was a bummer for us & were only open 1 of the days of our 3 day vacation. We would've eaten here everyday if they were open. It's outside & has a fun camping/classy type of atmosphere.

Relaxed outdoor atmosphere. Friendly unobtrusive service. The went as far as bringing the bottle of wine to the table when asking if the wife would like more. They let us move to lounge seats and relax while enjoy our drinks as the sun set over the hills. The quality of the food was top notch. The only negative is that I do not live closer to this establishment.

I don't think I would eat anywhere else in Three Rivers! It's a lovely spot after a day at the park. Tons of friendly locals, yummy tacos and salads with butterleaf lettuce.

Excellent food. I had the quinoa sliders with delicious rice. The cold coffee was tasty. The atmosphere overlooking the river was very relaxing. The owner does a great job with the ambiance and menu, only he should have one of his tasty Kaweah brews before coming to work as he was mighty stressed out.

Had me and my family wait 10 minutes and then told me that it would be a 15 minute wait even though there was a open table and the next family after us got sat down right away. The time we were waiting we had all the staff at this place staring at one of my family members like she wasn't wanted there. Maybe because she was wearing cultural garb. When I told the hostess that I would rather not wait, in a polite tone, she snatched up the menu from my hand and said thank you in a smarty tone.

My first time enjoying Ol Buckaroo was within weeks of it's opening. I had a salad which was delicious! I believe it had peaches (mmm) and a grass fed burger. I loved it so much I went back the next day and picked up lunch to bring back for my husband and his friend. We have always loved going to the family vacation place in Three Rivers, but the restaurant situation was limited. We basically only had sequoia subs the entire weekend! (Which is also amazing!) But sometimes you want more variety and Ol buckaroo delivers! It's amazing to find such great tasting meals in such a small town considering we live in LA. We are going up to three rivers again this weekend and my stomach is excited for another delicious salad from Ol buckaroo! This time I plan on checking it out at sunset with our pooch. It's such a cute setup I am excited to dine there rather than taking food to go!

Love the food! Great tacos! I had the vegetable and the pork tacos. It was awesome!!! Everyone was courteous and kind. But... it was hot the day we went and the flies were driving us crazy had to cover my food with napkin and if I could fit myself under the napkin to get away from the flies I would have. They are in need of a screen around the dining area.

This bucolic spot by the river just outside the national park was the perfect spot to discuss the upcoming UK general election. The excellence of the food ( amazing fried chicken -- like, wow) contrasted perfectly with the utter putridity of the candidates offered to the British electorate. Whether the repulsive David Cameron manages to cling to power, or whether the foul Ed Miliband slithers into Number 10, one things for sure: I'll be coming back!

Friendly, on the river, convenient, made with love kinda food! Just a few things to chose from on the menu. My bf and I came for breakfast and had the cheddar waffle with fried chicken and the warm brown butter waffle. They were good portions. Not too much and not too little. Glad we came here. Support local businesses!

Great breakfast experience. Outdoor seating overlooking the river. Good strong coffee flowing. The Cowboy Breakfast delivered- fried eggs over melted gruyère over wilted greens with perfect bacon. But the kicker was the oatmeal toast and tomato jam- fantastic. Shared a brown sugar rye waffle, and that completed our excellent meal. Bonus: Good morning music playing- Dylan, Paul Simon. Excellent fuel to begin the day at Sequoia National Park

Not disappointed. I got the grass fed hamburger with Brie cheese, bacon and it comes with caramelized onion. Very good and the burger is seasoned and very moist. Our group also got the hot wings, side of asparagus with pesto sauce, black bean sliders, apple bottom grilled cheese & fried chicken. All items were delicious and would definitely order them all again. To me what makes this place so great. Is there menu changes because they use what's in season. That is awesome to me!!! The atmosphere is so relaxing. That with the Spanish white wine made the experience perfect. I read a couple negative comments in regard to the service...so I'm going to be honest. We were expecting the soup nazi from Seinfeld lol. However everyone was so nice, helpful and really took care of our every need.

I don't think I have ever eaten at the same place twice in one day...until I came to the Ol' Buckaroo. Mind you, there aren't too many choices in Three Rivers but still, that says something. For brunch I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken tenders with cheesy waffles. The chicken was nice and crisp but not overly covered in fried batter. These were definitely the highlight. The waffles were filled with small pockets of melted cheese and served with a side of syrup. For dinner I had the arugula salad, sweet potato fries and buttermilk fried chicken. The arugula salad was actually a kale salad with butternut squash and farro but I prefer kale so it was a fine substitution for me. The sweet potato fries were well cooked and seasoned. Again, the buttermilk fried chicken was excellent. The meat was extra juicy and tender with that wonderful fried batter crunch. The chefs here really knock it out of the park! I'm taking off a star because of the service, likely due to the fact that they only opened a month ago. The service was slow in general and our waitress wasn't too familiar with the menu. The atmosphere is very cozy with strung lights, a fire pit, and blankets overlooking the river.

Nice surprise at end of long road trip. We stopped in Three Rivers on way to Sequoia. Delicious food. Great location near the river. Food truck with table service (picnic tables) and classic summer feel. Best dessert I've had in a long time. Chocolate mousse with caramel and sea salt. Yummy! We did need bug spray to keep our ankles Fromm being nibbled on but we were prepped so no problem.

I have been at the Ol Buckaroo twice. The first time was for lunch, and the second time was for dinner. Both times I had a great experience. The last time I was there was for a romantic dinner with my girlfriend. I had the fried chicken, and she had the black bean quinoa sliders. The whole evening was great. The lighting was low and made for a relaxed feeling. Though it was cold out, the restaurant provided heating units to keep us warm, and each chair had a blanket on it which we used to keep our legs warm. Though it was later at night and the staff was starting closing procedures, they were still attentive to our needs and friendly. Our server was also well knowledged in the beer and wine we inquired about.

Food was great atmosphere was great. Kids have toys trucks to play with in the rocks. It had a great view of the river from the tables. The night we went was a colder night and they even had blankets and a fire! Definitely try the local beers.

Cute environment. Good food. RUDE, SARCASTIC, UNPROFESSIONAL (from the owner himself) and slow service. It really is such a shame, this place has so much potential.

Beautiful, cozy and lively place. When you get there, you immediately have the sense that this was the chef's dream come true: a food truck next to a river, right off of a National Park, where tourists are welcomed and locals are excited to see each other. This place has full potential to thrive. The three starts given are related to the time we waited. We were seated and decided what we wanted to order. After 15 minutes we were greeted by our very friendly but overwhelmed waitress saying it was taco night. We all changed our orders to tacos since we wanted something tasty but quick, given we were on our way back home after visiting Sequoia. 45 minutes later, we check on our order, ready to cancel and move on. We were finally served and, for the amount of time we waited, we were all a bit disappointed. It was very flavorful, please don't get me wrong, but we expected better after waiting so long for tacos. On a taco night. We left still a bit hungry since the amount of tacos our waitress suggested had not been enough, but we were discouraged to order more. Noticing how long it had taken, she justified that taco nights are their busiest nights. They're a brand new place (we were in Three Rivers a year ago and had not seen it), so this review comes from a place of respect for their beautiful place and tasty food, but also as a constructive criticism in relation to full-house preparedness. Their plan has worked "too" well. :)

This place is amazing! I really wish there was something like it where I live, in San Diego. But, it still wouldn't be as great as this location. The view is incredible, especially around sunset time, which is when my mom, sister and I stopped in for dinner. They both had the chicken plate and I chose the grass-fed beef burger. Everything was delicious! It all tasted super fresh We also bought a bottle of pink wine which was dry, but to the perfect amount. Very light and refreshing - just what we wanted on a summer evening. The service was top notch! We were immediately greeted and told we could choose to sit wherever we liked. Then we were given a complimentary dish of peppers from the farm across the way(!!!) covered in sea salt. They were extremely delicious. Overall this place definitely gets a 5/5. The decor was beautiful as well, little tea lights everywhere, with plants all around. I just adore this place and wish I were able to stop by more often. On my next visit to Sequoia, we will definitely be here again. Thanks my friends!!! Much love to ya!

Hello fellow yelpers. I had a day or so to kill so I did what I do best. I went out hunting for good food and brews! I took out my beloved driod and opened my trusty Yelp app to guide me to my next meal. I was warned that people in CA are more liberal with their stars. I think it is true but this truck had 4 and a half so it had to be close to perfect right? I stood in line faithfully following the rules. I didn't complain, did not question what they gave me, order more than one, etc. and paid when it was finally my turn. So I didn't get yelled at, and I got perfectly grilled sliders with a delicious local brew (Kaweah Brewing Company) This cost is slightly pricey and you have to wait an hour! But its worth it, esp on a warm sunny afternoon The local brew... Holy Toledo IPA is tremendous. kaweahbrewing.com/beer_t…

I can't really give this place 5 stars although it's quite close. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could. Let's start with the great things: First, the food. High quality ingredients and interesting dishes. Certainly a level above most other restaurants in the area. Second, the setting. An outside patio overlooking the river is really hard to beat. They even have a few toys around to keep the little ones occupied and blankets if you get cold at night - I love these little touches. The only thing that wasn't so great was service, or is it kitchen management? The servers were all very nice and friendly, but the things we ordered came out a long time apart from each other (toddler had to wait for her food about 10 minutes aftet mommy and daddy got theirs; Doesn't sound like a long time, unless you are 3 years old or a parent of one). A few other small things also went unnoticed. In fairness, I can't say if this is a regular problem or we just chanced upon a couple of random mishaps in this single visit. Altogether, this place is still a great choice if you're in the area.

This place is great, amazing customer service and wonderful fresh food, we had asparagus with pesto sauce holy moly it was delicious, the grilled cheese with apple was perfect comfort and their blackberry infused with rosemary homemade soda pop is just to die for :) not overly sweet, really recommend this place if you're in the area or visiting Sequoia park give it a try. Wonderful view of the river as well

This is the first time I've been in Three Rivers. My girlfriend and I were looking for a place to have dinner after a long day of hiking at Sequoia. I was blown away by how delicious the food was. The outdoor seating area is a bit cold during this time (it's January) but should be great during the day and the summer season. We spent the time talking to some locals from Three Rivers and they have wholly embraced this food truck. A visit to Sequoia and Kings Canyon would not be complete without a stop here!

Food is not good and service is really bad. Charge $1.5 for water per person. I never met this kind of this situation in this country. The worst thing is forcing you to pay 18% service gratuity and also pay tax on this tip. I can't believe why it can get 4 star.

Found myself in Three Rivers unable to find decent coffee. Thank God for this tiny oasis. This oddly named place came through with excellent coffee (French Press) and fine desserts. The owner - T.R. - is eager to chat and the whole experience was top-hole.

I am so happy we stopped here for dinner! I wasn't sure what to expect, but it really couldn't have been better in my mind. Everyone was so nice. The service was a little slow at first, but they were busy and every table was full once we sat. They had beer taps set up outside the food truck & a decent beer selection. The seating was outdoors & overlooking the river. My husband and I were amazed how good the food was. Loved this place & would go again for sure

We went to Ol Buckaroo because a local recommended it. Splendid recommendation! Great environment, great service, great food --- all around a great time! We were visiting from the Bay Area where food trucks are a plenty --- and good! --- so we were excited to try this place. It did not disappoint. Well...the hamburgers and beer did not disappoint. Definitely recommend this place to anyone coming/going to the Sequoia's.

I loved the place! I was on an early bike ride and decided to stop for breakfast! Set up was clean and staff was very friendly! I had the egg sandwich on a nice fresh bun! Coffee was to perfection! I will try to go back with the husband before we leave back to Los Angeles!

Great little addition to the valley and it's foothills! Great location next to the river with comfortable and simple seating and setup. High quality food from small family farms and recipes that have variety, craft and quality and great service. The grass fed burger is delicious and their blackberry and basil soda paired well! Next time brunch and mavericks coffee! Thank you for coming to Three Rivers Ol' Buckaroo! We'll see you again soon.

Ol Buckaroo is something unlike anything else in the valley. The atmosphere and dining experience was so fun. We arrived, and were seated within in 5 minutes. They were fairly crowded, and asked if we wanted to share a table with another couple, which I thought was really awesome! I ordered the sliders and my boyfriend ordered the burger. They were both delicious. I heard great things about the fried chicken and grilled cheese, also. Not only was everything great, it was all grass-fed beef and tasted fresh. The service was great, and our server was super friendly! We enjoyed the company and our food, and will definitely be back again! :)

My wife and I rent a house in Three Rivers a couple of times a year. This year Christmas came in October, courtesy of the Ol' Buckaroo restaurant. The couple who own this place, T.R. and his wife Nicky, must be the hardest-working couple in the restaurant business. In addition to raising two small children, they've managed to plant this little jewell of an outdoor restaurant right where you'd least expect to stumble upon such an elegant surprise of a dining find -- two miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. The surprise emanates from...a permanently parked food truck. But to call it a "food truck" is like calling a Ferrari a "ground-based transportation vehicle". While the menu is limited, each and every item on it is creative, natural, and out-of-this-world delicious. If you're anywhere near the area, please stop in, meet the owners, and support this fabulous addition to the Three Rivers community. Ol' Buckaroo gives us one more reason to look forward to our next visit to Three Rivers. Oh, and they're pet-friendly!

My wife and I spent a few days in Three Rivers and after eating once at this place, we ate there for every meal (so, probably 5 meals). The food really is the best in town. I am a tad picky about food since i am cook and all, so i guess i am not easily pleased but I was well pleased to find such a place in Three Rivers. When you come to a tiny town like this, and Three Rivers is soooooper Tiny (not really a town at all, just a scattering of merchants along the road, you can easily drive by and miss it) you expect greasy food from a greasy spoon and slow service. This is the opposite. Fantastic atmosphere (it's on the river and they have a path down to it) and it's outdoors for now but we went when it was fairly cool and with the heaters and all, it was really nice, they even lay out blankets!. They even have a couch with a little coffee table. So cute and the attention to detail is out of sight. My wife even noticed the whole place was laid out in feng shui, a nice touch and thoroughly unexpected in what is basically a backwater village. And did i mention the food was outstanding? I ate at, and recommend breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The eggs, waffles, burgers, chicken were all great. My wife particularly loved something she'd never tried before, an egg sandwich with some cute little greens on it. Weird as hell, who eats eggs with greens, but she ate it 3 times and i had a bite and holy cow, who knew? - It was great! Oh yeah, best lemon bars i've ever had! I saw a few comments about rude servers, particularly the young man who is co-owner but I certainly would disagree. I thought he was absolutely brilliant and an extremely nice guy, as were the other staff, particularly his wonderful wife Nikki with whom we had several nice conversations. The service was very fast, the food was amazing and this place was pretty busy the entire time we were there so it's not like they could easily cater to us and i saw them talking extensively with others. I don't mean to overemphasize the point here but frankly, I've never even been to a restaurant (anywhere) where the owners and waiters were so nice and willing to chat. And I am not one to stand for rude behavior at all nor am i particularly easy to please in any way so if they made this impression on me, then i can only assume that the rude experience a couple others had was down to someone having a bad day but it cannot possibly be the "norm" here. We ate there 5-6 times and every time they were very nice and let me tell you, running a small family restaurant is not easy. These people ran their asses off! Very highly recommended.

So I have returned a handful of times since my original review, and have been underwhelmed by the food. The service has been slow. But I kept trying, as I loved the idea of this place. That all changed on my last visit. I will not return as long as the male owner is affiliated with this place. His staff says he is "sarcastic." That is too nice of a description. I sent so many people to this restaurant in the beginning. With each visit, my thoughts changed. It is a great setting. Some of the staff is friendly. The food is so-so, and not prepared properly to order. The service is super slow. Just be prepared to be treated like garbage by the owner. If you enjoy that kind of abuse, this is the place for you. The rest of us can enjoy Sierra Subs if we are starving or head down the hill into Exeter or Visalia.

Terrible service. Rude servers with a bad attitude. Too bad, I wanted to like it! Even though I had been warned that the service there is bad these days (and has turned off many of the locals), I didn't realize it's downright unprofessional and rude. We had an awful experience when the waitress got our order wrong only to have the owner/manager snap at us and the other customers in line, raising his voice in anger instead of just solving the problem like a professional. After the waitress begrudgingly admitted it had been her error, he didn't even apologize. I cannot respect such tantrum-ridden behavior - no wonder his employees don't want to cop to their mistakes! The poor and ineffective management gives this place a bad, unpleasant vibe. We lost our appetite for good and will not return to the Ol' Buckaroo.

If Pinterest and the Food Network had a love-child, it would be the Ol Buckaroo. The atmosphere is fantastic! Great grey picnic tables and comfy patio furniture fill the outdoor space that is covered with sail shades lined with white globe lights. The wooden fence is lined with white Christmas lights and a wind chime hangs from a pomegranate tree. There are two additional eating areas: one is for a couple lovebirds, off to the side; the other is for four friends to relax in comfy furniture. We came around 6:30 in September just as the sun was sneaking behind the hills. The temperature was in the 90's during the day and a pleasant 80°. The food...oh my! The grass-fed burgers are so flavorful with fresh chives cook right into the meat. They will give the rest of the town a reason to reevaluate their menu and food quality. If my stomach was a bottomless pit, I would try everything on their menu. There is no kids' menu; however, there are many items that would suit a child. Someone here must have kids, because they have a tractor and wheelbarrow to play with. We would definitely come back and highly recommend the Ol Buckaroo!

Been here a couple times. Was not impressed with the food or service, which is a shame in a town that needs more variety. Sub shop is the only place in town that's reliable.

We stopped here after a day at Sequoia Nat'l Park. My parents wanted to stop at Ol' Buckaroos, as they'd recently read a review about the food truck. My mom was intrigued by the news review of the food truck menu which boasted of local, organic produce and healthy options. We arrived at Ol' Buckaroos right when they opened for dinner and were seated immediately. We sat at a picnic table with a great view of the river. The decor was cute (hipster style), picnic tables, mason jar glasses, white lights were strung across the tin roof patio. It was about 95 degrees, quite warm to be eating outdoors w/o a fan. One of the first things we noticed were the flies. The flies were relentless and were hovering over the tables. Shortly after being seated our waitress brought over menus and took our drink orders. They had a few beers on tap that were from local breweries, very cool. The menu was limited, mostly burgers, sandwiches and two different salads. The burgers were made from grass fed beef. My dad and I ordered burgers, which were very tasty. My mom and my boyfriend both ordered the fried chicken sandwich, which were also good. Although the food was good we weren't able to enjoy our meal due to the pesky flies that wouldn't allow us to eat in peace. It seemed like there was an infestation of flies! We rushed through our meal because of the annoying flies! Overall, the food was good, but it would've been nice to see healthier options. The prices were average. Our dining experience was ruined by the flies. Next time I'm in the area craving a burger I may consider stopping by Ol' Buckaroos...but I would definitely order it to go and eat in my car rather than to endure the flies again. I hope the owners do something about the flies.

I have eaten at this restaurant several times. The first time was a great, interesting breakfast. Since then I have had some hit and miss dinners. Their menu is very limited and the last two times they were out of many things! These are really nice people and they have had some interesting specials. When their menu is more complete and they are more able to prepare enough food, they could be great!

What a pleasant surprise. My husband and I were visiting the area for our anniversary. The bed and breakfast we were staying at highly recommended this place. We were told to get the chicken sandwich. They were out of chicken so we got the burger. It was amazing! We also had the kale salad with pistachios. We were not disappointed with are meal. The service was also great!, It you haven't eaten here yet, your missing out on a great meal ;)

We went here last night with a group of 9. We made a 6:30 reservation and got seated right away. Our service was attentive but not annoying . All of our meals were great. My wife ordered the grilled cheese with apple and it was amazing, as was my fried chicken. Fresh ingredients and creativity seem to be a priority here. The owner came to check on us a few times during dinner and seemed to be a very nice guy. We even joked with him about some of the reviews on Yelp. If you want great food and service in a pleasant, relaxed atmosphere, in Three Rivers, this is the place.

We were expecting a pleasant atmosphere entering the restaurant. But our experience was not pleasant at all. The food was more than one hour late. We were mistreated by mean waiters after trying to politely explain that we had been waiting for a long time.

Came in after a long day in sequoia. Artichoke was nothing special but somehow was great, and I don't like them too much normally. Local micro brews on tap were solid. Probbaly the first Brie Cheeseburger I've ever had, but there needs to be more. Fries were ....fries. My gfs apple bottom grilled cheese was amazing. We had to get dessert after the quality of the rest of dinner. The chocolate mousse with Carmel that has some fancy name was also amazing. I wish they had a bigger menu or we'd be back 2 nights in a row.

A surprising and great find in Three Rivers. It's a food truck with outdoor/shaded seating area with table service. Excellent menu with fresh and creative items. We had the grilled cheese with salad one evening with a very nice glass of wine and liked it so much we came back for breakfast on a following day. Breakfast was even better! Their special of the day was a take on huevos rancheros which was perfect, and we also ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which were delicate and light. This was the best place we ate on our weekend visiting Sequoia National Park - can't recommend it highly enough!

They accommodated twelve of us, as another 20 or so customers showed up, and the kitchen had no problem pumping the food out. Hand squeezed juice and homemade sodas were delicious. The food was outstanding. Pancakes had to be some of the best I've had. The fried chicken was expertly breaded and fried. Breakfast sando was excellent. All in highly recommended for travelers to Sequoia or stayers of Three Rivers. Will definitely come back for dinner and a beer under the patio.

Food is average. Not what we were expecting. The girl told us "they aren't equipped for people in a rush" despite being a food truck, so they tell those people to go to the sub shop.

The food was ok. Nothing special. But I am giving one star because we had to wait for 2 hours for our burgers and the people there didn't care at all and they were rude and sarcastic with our complaint. If you have any problem with your food or anything, just don't talk to them about it. In this way, at least you won't add more tension to your dining experience. Just eat what they give you, leave, and never go back.

We stopped here on a Friday night on the long drive up to the Sequoias from LA. We were expecting a roadside national park-adjacent sandwich spot (which wouldn't have been all bad!) but we found a magical locals scene with delicious food, cheap and wonderful wine ($5 a glass), and great service. Outside seating only, at shared picnic tables. It was 78 degrees the night we were there, and it was dark (apparently there's a great river view) but it was lit with strung lights and had a garden party vibe. The owner grew up in Three Rivers and recently moved back with her husband and kids. The site, right off 198, sits across the river from her grandmother's old house. Right now they're cooking a limited menu out of a food truck - fried chicken sandwich, grass fed beef burger, 2 salads, several desserts. The food was 5 stars - though, not much here for vegetarians. Sounds like they have big plans for the building next door -- which is very exciting for anyone trekking up and back to sequoia national park! They also intend to tent and heat the outdoor space in the meantime this fall.

This was a perfect little stop for dinner during our trip to the sequoias. The kale salad and quinoa sliders were excellent. The burger and fries were ok but just weren't doing it for my OH. Service was very good. It was difficult at first to understand where to order and where to pay. The warmth of the atmosphere alone will bring me back next time I'm in the area. You can totally feel the love!

Excellent ending to a perfect day in Sequioa. I had the special of the night: braised pork on polenta, my wife had the buttermilk fried chicken. We both had the local beers from Kaweah brewery: IPA and brown ale. Service was good, great ambience, and good pricing. Better yet, the food was locally sourced. Great little place.

Gorgeous outdoor setting overlooking the river with rustic tones meeting with elegant food and local craft beer. Needs a wind chime to complete the earth, air, water, fire blend.

I was excited to try this place given the reviews. The outside atmosphere is very laid back and kinda cute. We had assumed we'd order our food and then sit, since its prepared in a food truck. However, a waitress noticed us waiting and quickly sat us at a charming little table for two. THAT IS THE ONLY TIME I CAN USE THE WORD "QUICK" in this review. Our food took an HOUR to arrive. Why didn't we leave? Honestly, I'm not sure. Stupidity maybe? Morbid curiosity? Food that takes an hour too cook must be Heaven sent. In all actuality, the food itself wasn't bad. The waffles were amazing as were the eggs. The table next to us nearly got our food because the waiter couldn't remember which table had ordered it. Guess that's what happens when you take an hour to cook a simple meal. It should be noted the table that nearly got our order also had an hour wait for their meal....they ate and left without paying. It was tempting to follow suit, but I couldn't do it. Some locals came in about 20 minutes after our arrival. They ordered and received their food right away. I'm assuming they were family or really good friends of the owner because their children were allowed next door where the owner lived. That's good business. Take care of your friends/family and crap on the tourists.

After my boyfriend and I read the hilarious (only) one star yelp review, we knew we had to eat here, and hopefully meet "that guy." Well we did, and I can't say we shared the same experience as "Josiah" (to each his own). The service was nothing short of excellent...just a couple of real awesome people making real good food. I had the organic fried chicken, which may have been the best fried chicken I have ever eaten, and I'm usually not a fan of coleslaw, but they do it right here. The fries (came with my boyfriend's burger) were cooked and seasoned to perfection. Whether or not you are usually a desert person, I would recommend reaching out and trying the chocolate pot de creme. Mangez bien, riez souvent, aimez beaucoup! From the sounds of the river, the rain, and the good music playing from the truck to the cheerful banter and laughter of the other visitors, this experience was all around beautiful.

Definitely a cute dinner set-up but unfortunately, the food is just mediocre. I got the sliders (2 sliders in 1 order) and was disappointed with the portion size and the taste. The sliders are so tiny and the meat was overcooked. Though perfectly fried, the fries were definitely undersalted and when I added more salt, it wouldn't even stick to the fries. My boyfriend ordered the grassfed beef hamburger and he said the meat was overcooked as well, though he ordered it medium rare. His fries were also undersalted. He was satisfied with his meal but I definitely was not. We also ordered the housemade forest berry basil soda and it was dreadful. It was undersweetened and I didn't see any basil in it. Instead, I saw rosemary sprigs in the soda and all I could taste was rosemary. Overall, I was disappointed with my dining experience here and probably won't be coming back. Although the service was good and I want to support a family run business, the food just didn't measure up.

I've been here twice, the atmosphere is the only reason I would give it a full star. The food is good, nothing to die for. However the service is HORRENDOUS. I have never once in my life been treated so horribly by a waiter. I don't know if this guys gets it, but don't you want to make your customer's experience a pleasant one? The waiter was being ignorant the whole time. I said "Can you turn that on?" pointing towards the heater. Instead of a sure, or I would be happy to, the response was "it's a heater, it has a name". Continuous remarks that encouraged belittlement with a negative and condescending tone were present all night. Not to mention, never was my water refilled all night. When I went up to pay, he asked if it was together, and I suggested that we will all be paying separately. I further informed him of what was mine, incase he forgot, and then informed him that I wanted to use the cash in my wallet put the rest on my card. He then grotesquely uttered loud enough for the whole restaurant to hear, "What you don't have enough money to put it all on your card." Later he slammed the tip jar in front of one of my friends, obnoxiously loud enough to turn heads in the restaurant and suggested that he deserved a tip. I don't know where this guy learned how to treat customers but he lost a few tonight.

Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner on our way to sequoia. We were worried about finding a place because we are vegetarians but ol buckaroo was perfect! It had a great atmosphere, an outdoorsy mix of eclectic tables covered by cloth canopies and surrounded by soft lighting. The owners were warm friendly people that were very accommodating and cheerful. Can't wait to come back next time!

What a wonderful experience! Food is very good, service is excellent and prompt without rushing you, ambience is really nice. I think the prices are just right for the portions but more importantly for the wonderfully prepared food. We shared the hamburger (cooked perfectly) with great flavor and the fried chicken ( I know but you gotta give in once in a while). The sides were fresh and tasty. Good wine selection as well. I would go back every weekend if it was closer but I will go back next time in the area. Great concept with the food truck and picnic tables. Keep up the great work!

By far the best place to eat in town. On a family trip to the park and had dinner here our second night. Family of 5 and everyone was happy. Great staff, very chatty and friendly and the service was fantastic too. If we ever find ourselves in Three Rivers again - we will defiantly stop in.

Just needed something to take the edge off after coming down the mountain from Sequoia National Park. My wife and I shared the arugula salad and grilled cheese tort. Everything was awesome. The food and music were great while sitting under an umbrella watching the river.

The Ol'Buckaroo is an absolute gem in three rivers. The food and service are great and the ambience is unbeatable. The good is modern American - a healthy twist on classics. The lights and the fireplace alongside the river really make this place special though. Our bnb owner Sharon recommended the place - thanks!

We wanted to love this place, and still think the concept is great. It's a beautiful setting and we really enjoyed the simplicity of the whole set up. The food was very good. But the service was terrible. Our server forgot to take our order so we had to flag down another server to take it. An hour and 15 min later, our appetizer and my boyfriend's dinner arrived. We had to ask about my meal, which arrived another 15 min later with hardly an apology. Paying was awkward, as the server who forgot to take our order hovered around while waiting for us to leave a tip. Really wish this place had left a better impression on us.

Fantastic food prepared by terrific people. Without a doubt, the best food in 3 Rivers. You're missing out if you don't stop by and have a meal there. Great atmosphere and truly delicious food.

Gotta say I was really impressed. My wife was told about this place by her hairdresser in Exeter. We had an afternoon to kill, so off we went. The place is VERY casual, the food was really very good, and the afternoon was perfect. I had the chicken and waffles and my wife had the chicken sandwich. I had a bite of her sandwich, and I have to admit, the last time I had a sandwich like that was at Sebastian's in San Simeon, before it changed hands. The waffles and chicken were very good, but the chicken sandwich, well...let's just say, I will be back. The view of the river, the setting, all are very good. The wait person was very good. Kept up with us, without being obtrusive. Two big thumbs up!

Superb little place in Three Rivers on way to/from Sequoia National Park. Great vibe, great people, super food and beer. Currently a fancy Food Truck on a groomed lot with nice shaded picnic tables, the owners hope to fix up the adjacent historic Buckaroo Cafe in next few years. But it is fabulous right now! Buttermilk Fried Mary's Organic Chicken Sandwich with Avocado-Cabbage Slaw on a Torta Bun was slammin' with crispy skin, juicy meat, and tasty greens. The Special, a Grilled Vermont Cheddar with Nectarines and Arugula on Brioche was killer. The Crispy Sweet Potato Fries with Chile Salt were some of the best ever. 22oz local Kaweah Breweries Holy Toledo IPA topped it off. Great service, too. Check it out next time on your way to Sequoia.

I had dinner here with the wife and child about three weeks ago. If you've never been to Three Rivers, it's very much as if a bunch of San Francisco residents decided to get away from it all and create their own village in the foothills of the Sequoias. What does that have to do with the food? Well, the food is creative. I had a pair of sliders on special, and they were made from bean instead of beef. It was very good. We tried the grilled cheese, and I don't know what kind of cheese it was (definitely not American), but it had a pear slice in the middle of it. That was good too. The wife had Angus beef sliders, and of course, the beef was naturally fed with no growth hormones. We shared sweet potato fries that were quickly eaten up. Toss in a bottle of wine for $24, and we were set. More about the place. The young people who set this up are bright and inventive. The cooking is performed in an upscale kitchen/trailer, and the seating is outside. You get fresh air, mountain and river views, and an ambiance that cannot happen indoors. The wait staff are young and energetic, very friendly.

what a great dining experience! a tremendous THANK YOU to the hard-working team at the ol' buckaroo. visiting sequoia national park from chicago, we spent the day working up a significant appetite and this fantastic food truck/restaurant certainly met our needs. the two mains were buttermilk fried chicken and a grass-fed burger complete with all the fixin's (blue cheese or brie? such choices!). as sides, we enjoyed the sea salted sweet potato fries w/ aioli, grilled shishito peppers, and arugula salad. everything was fresh, flavorful, and well-prepared. we also took the opportunity to try the homemade strawberry basil soda--so refreshing! i *must* mention that the staff was delightful! we got there about 5:30pm (they opened for dinner at 5:00), and despite a pretty quick crowd gathering, they maintained well-timed service. the seating area was a collection of picnic tables located perfectly along the creekside as the sun was descending...uh, yeah...no complaints there. now, we didn't have a chance to eat-around town, but it's usually places like this that start food revolutions. ;-) it was such a pleasure to be here on their opening evening! best of luck to everyone involved with this great establishment.

Opening any business in Three Rivers is inherently challenging. There are many basic issues -water, weak supply chain, heat- that have sunk so many businesses here. So for just being in business I'll give them a lot of credit and stars. However above and beyond that I'll give them even more credit for serving food that is ethical, diverse and adventurous. And now the best part is the key role they have played here in town. Three Rivers has very few places where residents, family and tourists alike can be together. The outdoor seating venue of the Ol' Buckaroo really facilitates a lot of positive interactions and good times. Would I give this place 5 stars if it were in SF or LA? No. However I can't think of one single restaurant in either of those places where you can see the farm where some of the veggies came from and hear a cow moo while eating a burger. There is a lot to be said for that.

This is the place to go! Delicious food, great atmosphere and excellent customer service! They've really done an outstanding job with the location. It's beautiful and there's so much detail and love put into everything! For dinner we enjoyed the salad, sliders, grilled cheese and grass fed burger. It was all delicious and we can't wait to return and/or try out the brunch! Hands down there is nothing comparable! Thank you for a wonderful experience.
